Wedding Photography
Weddings are a logistics problem before they are a photography problem. A South Indian muhurtham at 5:40 AM, a reception the same evening, three hundred guests and a family list that nobody has written down. We plan the coverage in advance: which rituals, which family members, which rooms, and how the team is positioned for each. Then we shoot it as documentary work, with the formal portraits scheduled deliberately rather than snatched between events.

What we would tell you on the first call
Write the family shot list, and put a name next to each group. Every wedding photographer says this and almost nobody does it, and it is the single largest cause of a missing photograph in an otherwise complete album. Also: give the formal portraits a proper thirty-minute slot in the schedule. Weddings that treat portraits as something to fit in between events get portraits that look exactly like that.

How many photographers cover a wedding?+
Two as standard, and more for larger weddings or multiple simultaneous events. A single photographer at a South Indian wedding is always in the wrong room at some point, and the resulting gaps cannot be fixed afterwards.
What is a family shot list and why do you keep asking for one?+
It is a written list of the group photographs you want, with names against each group. Almost nobody produces one, and a missing family photograph is the single most common regret about an otherwise complete album. Twenty minutes spent on that list before the wedding is the highest-value thing you can do for your photography.
Do you cover South Indian, North Indian and Christian weddings?+
Yes, along with civil ceremonies. We go through the full ritual order with you in advance regardless of tradition, because sequences vary between families as much as between communities, and knowing what comes next is most of the job.
When do we get the photographs?+
A highlight set within 72 hours of the wedding, and the full gallery of 600 to 1,200 edited images within six weeks. Albums add a proofing round on top of that, since you will want to change the layout at least once.
What happens if equipment fails during the ceremony?+
Every camera records to two cards simultaneously, and backup bodies come to every event. A wedding does not offer a second attempt, so the redundancy is not optional. It is worth asking any photographer you are considering the same question.
Do you travel for destination weddings?+
Yes. Travel and accommodation are quoted separately. Destination weddings need earlier booking, since the team is committed for several days rather than one.
Can we book cinematography as well?+
Yes — a photo and film team covering the wedding together, planned as one operation. Booking them separately from two studios tends to produce two teams competing for the same position at the same moment.
