Pre-Wedding Photography

A pre-wedding shoot is a small production, and the difference between a good one and a mediocre one is almost entirely in the planning. We scout locations, check what needs a permit, and schedule around the light rather than around convenience — which usually means starting uncomfortably early. Chennai and the coast road give you a great deal to work with: Mahabalipuram, the ECR beaches, Pondicherry's French quarter, and the older streets of Mylapore.

What we would tell you on the first call

The two things that decide whether the images are good are the time of day and how tired you are. Sunrise light is better than sunset light and considerably less crowded, which is why we keep suggesting a 5:30 AM start to couples who do not want one. And four locations in a day sounds efficient but produces worse photographs than two — by the fourth stop everybody is hot, hungry and finished, and it shows in the frames.

FAQ

Pre-Wedding — Frequently Asked Questions

Where do you shoot pre-wedding sessions around Chennai?+

Mahabalipuram, the ECR beaches, Pondicherry's French quarter, the older streets of Mylapore, and a number of heritage and garden locations across the city. We scout in advance and arrange permits where a site needs one — several of the best locations do.

Why do you keep suggesting a sunrise start?+

Because sunrise light is better than sunset light and the locations are far less crowded. A 5:30 AM start is genuinely unappealing and it produces noticeably better photographs, especially at coastal and heritage sites where a sunset shoot means sharing the frame with a hundred other people.

How many locations should we plan?+

Two for a half day, three or four for a full day, and honestly fewer is better. Four locations sounds efficient but by the fourth stop everybody is hot, hungry and finished, and it is visible in the frames. Two locations shot properly beat four shot in a hurry.

Neither of us knows how to pose. Will that show?+

No, because you are directed continuously. Almost no couple has done this before. The first twenty minutes always feel awkward and then people forget the camera is there, which is when the good frames happen — so we plan for that rather than fighting it.

Do you do destination pre-wedding shoots?+

Yes — Pondicherry, Mahabalipuram, Kodaikanal and Munnar are regular ones. Travel and stay are quoted separately, and destination shoots need more lead time for scouting and permits.

Can we get a save-the-date video too?+

Yes, a 60 to 90 second pre-wedding film is available. Book it alongside the photography rather than afterwards so one team plans the day around both.

Tell us the occasion, your child's age and roughly when. You will get availability and a quote the same day — and an honest note if the timing would be better a few weeks either side.
